F1 is back… and JCS hose clamps are playing their part

With the 2019 British Grand Prix just around the corner as we head into another round for the Formula 1 circus. Spare a thought for the humble hose clamp.

Far away from the razzamatazz of the world’s most expensive sport and beneath the gleaming bodywork of some of the fastest cars on the planet, JCS clamps will be doing a vital job holding coolant and fuel lines securely in place.

The popularity of silicon hose

JCS clamps are used by four out of the five leading silicon hose kit manufacturers whose products are employed widely across the motorsport world.

Silicon hose kits are popular with the motorsport fraternity who use them for coolant, water, fuel and oil. Due to silicon’s flexibility and how easily it can be moulded, the hoses are utilised by teams working in grassroots street racing and touring car events through to the multi-billion pound F1 Championship.

Rounded edges

Where JCS has the advantage above other clamp manufacturers is that the rounded edges of its clamps offer more protection to the silicon hose.

Silicon hose has thinner walls than traditional hose pipe, making it vulnerable to sharp edges, so the JCS design helps to ensure the material isn’t damaged or severed as the hose is secured and put under stress.

These rounded edges also guarantee no gap exists during the construction of the silicon hoses and that everything is a reliable, snug fit.

Highly-regarded

An example of how highly regarded JCS’s clamps are is one instance when we were contacted by our distributors late on Friday with an urgent request for some of our hose clamps for an F1 team.

We dropped everything and worked into the evening to make up this specialist order before the clamps were flown to the racing track ready for racing practice on Saturday.
